Run Your Car On Water Article By Angelo Parr - Green Enthusiast

If you have ever typed "water for fuel" into a search engine, you've probably been exposed to the whole run your car on water phenomenon and the various manuals on how to build a hydrogen power cell generator that have become available online as a solution to convert your car to burn water as fuel and to increase your mileage.

After the last gas hike, it seems like hundreds or even thousands of websites across the net are offering their own version of the ultimate water hybrid conversion system that's supposed to make it easy for you to make your car run on water as a supplement to gas.

But can you really trust these companies? You read their glowing testimonials and they all guarantee you that their water for fuel kits work, yet you also read comments elsewhere online, like "all water as fuel kits are scams and they don't work". So what gives?

The answer to this question is this: Most "run car on water kits" do work but not all of them are complete and by this I mean they don't address some very important issues that limit their performance. These issues that I will explain below plague almost all of the HHO systems out there that are famous for getting complaints regarding their performance and results.

Sure many of these water for fuel systems work, but some may not save you any gas, some aren't safe and will explode and others will melt under the heat of your engine.

The truth is, it's easy to build a homemade HHO generator that works at producing HHO fuel from water and that's why these companies can make so many claims and get away with it but what isn't easy is making one of these hydrogen generators work right (and save you gas) in your car. This is why 90% of people never end up converting their vehicles to run on water successfully and call the whole water hybrid idea a scam.

However using water as a fuel is possible, you just have to choose a system that takes the time to address all of the following issues:

The O2 Sensors Issue: When you install one of these HHO gas saving devices into your vehicle you are essentially burning a fuel called HHO (hydrogen + oxygen) in addition to gasoline. Most newer cars have O2 sensors in them that will detect the extra oxygen in the fuel stream and increase the amount of gas being burned. Water for fuel kits that don't address this problem are technically working but unfortunately not saving gas. The increased fuel being ordered by the car's computer cancels out the savings from the HHO generator. There is an easy solution to this problem but many run car on water systems fail to include it and if they do they only skim over it briefly, not really giving you a viable action plan you can use to easily overcome this problem. Good HHO kits tell you how to completely eliminate this problem easily and show you how too, with real photo examples.

The Bubbler / Flashback Arrestor Requirement: Water for fuel kits made of hydrogen fuel cells are completely safe when they are constructed right. This means the mandatory inclusion of a simple but necessary safety feature called a bubbler or flashback arrestor. When HHO gas comes out of the electrolyzer it first must go through the bubbler (tube filled with water and some stainless steel wool) and then directly into the air intake of the engine. A bubbler filters the HHO gas and stops toxic material from entering the engine. It also protects against any backfires from the engine and prevents the HHO gas from traveling backward toward the electrolyzer. Any flame is automatically stopped by the water and you're fuel cell is safe. Hydrogen car kits that produce HHO fuel from water and don't include a proper bubbler (or similar solution) are putting their customers at risk of injury or damage to themselves and their cars, due to the unit exploding. Kind of important, don't you think?

The Use Of Baking Soda As An Electrolyte: Most run car on water kits tell you to mix baking soda into the water you use in your hydrogen power cell generator to make the water more conductive. Although baking soda does work, it is not the best option because it is a consumable substance not a catalyst. In other words it gets used up and goes away eventually so you have to keep re-adding it at the right ratio which can be difficult and down right labourous at times. But more importantly using baking soda produces carbon monoxide which is odorless and can be deadly. Good hydrogen fuel conversion kits for cars provide you with a variety of other electrolyte solutions that are completely safe because they don't dissipate quickly and they don't produce a dangerous gas as a byproduct of use.

Missing Vital Information About The Proper Preparation Of The Stainless Steel Plates Used To Build The Heart Of The HHO Unit. A typical HHO generator uses a series of stainless steel plates in the electrolyzer to produce HHO. It puzzles me greatly when the creators of some of these "using water for fuel" manuals and systems don't inform you that these stainless steel plates work much better if you rub them down with 36 grit sandpaper first so they have tiny groves in them. This creates much more HHO gas and increases the units effectiveness greatly. Also many of them don't tell you to wear rubber gloves when touching the plates during preparation. If you don't you can contaminate the plates and slow down HHO production due to greasy fingers. Additionally it helps to soak the plates in denatured alcohol just in case they do get contaminated. This is all stuff somebody building a fuel cell needs to know to achieve optimal performance and unfortunately many systems just don't mention it. The good ones do.

Bulky Units That Don't Fit Under The Hood: When you pick a hydrogen generator to power your car with using water for fuel, make sure it fits under your hood before you put in together. Many of the do-it-yourself HHO kits teach you to build a HHO generator that is just too big to fit in cars with minimal space. This happens more with HHO units built out of water filter housings and mason jars. A good hydrogen power cell unit is slim enough to fit in even the smallest spaces under your hood and can be customized to make it even easier.

The Use Of Confusing Electrical Diagrams Instead Of Real Photo Examples. Electrical diagrams can make anything look complicated. Make sure the system you choose uses real photo examples and even instructional videos so you can't mess it up. In reality, building a HHO generator to use water for fuel is easy. It's such a shame when some of these run car on water kits and manuals make it seem so hard by using old fashion methods such as electrical diagrams as well as vague (general) instructions.

Real Customer Support: If you can't contact the creator of an HHO system to get a few of your questions answered, you may want to think twice about their credibility. I've bought great water fuel kits that worked, but too often I could'nt get any customer support. Combine this with an incomplete water powered car plans and most people quickly lose their faith in successfully converting their cars into water hybrids that efficiently use water as fuel. Fortunately, most of the good systems do provide great support, and believe me this is priceless even if you don't use it. I have found that the water for fuel kits that provide great customer support are also the ones that explain everything well enough so that you don't have any questions in the first place. It's a win, win.

Are you starting to see why so many water for fuel HHO kits don't really work (because they are incomplete or impractical) and how critically important it is to pick the right water hybrid conversion kit when converting your car to run on fuel from water. It basically makes all the difference between pulling it off and pulling your hair out trying.

Good and even great run car on water systems do exist, but you would never know which is which by looking at their sales pages or their prices. If you want to run your car on water and get it right the first time make sure you get informed first because it's actually pretty easy to convert your car to run on water as fuel and save a lot of money on gas, when you pick the right system.
